Here are a few more pictures from December:
Nora took this adorable picture of the rats cuddling in their hammock
Dorie's been such a good buddy to me during my recovery
Some more rat cuddling
The highly anticipated Wicked movie came out, and Nora went to see it with some friends. We decided that out of the two rats, Coco would be Elpahaba, and Charlie would be Glinda.
Karin sent me a pretty flower arrangement
Juno hanging out with Sam
The rats made themselves a new window in their Kleenex box
The progression of Dorie cuddling with her giant stuffie over a couple of hours
Zzzzz
Juno hanging out with Mike
Mischief plotting
Sam decided that it was time to bring back the left hand drawing challenge, so he picked a prompt and got things started
These were the results, hehe
Dorie in "land seal" mode
We are still working on Oliver and Juno being able to get along, so Oliver comes in for "visiting hours" and treats
Oliver hanging out with Sam
Juno always likes to check out the seasonal decor in the hutch. She was having a bit of a hard time with Christmas because there were too many decorations and not much room for her on the shelves
Geraldine the Djungelskog (aka Gere Bear) got up to some fun activities this month
Trying out the charcuterie board
Doing some gaming
You can tell when Dorie is feeling bugged about something
We did a few puzzles this month. This was the first one and it was really hard - Mike and Nora did it
Working on the next puzzle
Dorie checking in on their progress
Max is still the cuddliest
Nora helped with a lot of the wrapping for Christmas
Ev got this weird plushie thing at a white elephant party - it has super long arms and legs. Dorie decided that it made a good pillow
I was laying on the couch when Dorie alerted me that something bad was happening - Oliver had picked out one of the presents from under the little pet tree, and was trying to open it. Dorie loves to tattle on the cats. (When we opened the pet presents, this present had the catnip pickle in it that Oliver loves so much)
Juno likes to hide behind an open door and do a sneak attack
Oliver taking over Sam's soft blanket and desk chair
While Nora was here for the break, we played the Fisherman's Tale 2 on VR. It is a story game that features lots of puzzles to figure out
Ev got this cool dog blanket
Nora got fun cross stitch kit that has patterns from Stardew Valley, a computer game that she really likes. She hade done other kinds of embroidery, but this was her first time with cross stitch, and she had a lot of fun trying it out. She also got some good boots for working with the horses, so she was breaking those in.
Oliver and his beloved pickle
Nora and I both started playing "Hogwarts Legacy" which is a game set in the Harry Potter universe, but 100 years before Harry Potter.
Nora trying to make as much progress on the game as she could before heading back to school
There are lots of giant spiders in the game, and they have an "arachnophobia" mode you can turn on in the settings where the spiders are made to look less realistic. Nora turned it on for her character because she hates spiders, and this is what the spiders look like for her, lol
Playtime with the rats
For s special surprise, we let the rats have a little time to explore "forbidden island" - aka the top of Nora's dresser where we keep their food and treats. They are always trying to devise ways to get up there, usually with little success.
Oliver got this cardboard scratcher as one of his Christmas presents. He loves to sit and sleep on it, but doesn't scratch it. At least he is enjoying it, I guess.
