Sam's Animal Report

Part of the curriculum for 4-year old preschool at Sam's school is for the kids to give an oral report on an animal of their choosing. Sam chose cats, and he helped me write the facts, and practiced giving his report many times before giving it at school. He did a great job!

(there was a baby sitting next to me, if you were wondering about the random noises. Hehe)

I do have to chuckle a little bit at his hair. We wetted it down, and got it looking nice before leaving for school, but by the time we got there, that little section was sticking up again!

The Tulip Festival

On Thursday evening, we did one of my favorite spring-time activities - attending the Tulip Festival.

The kids got a paper with questions on it. They had little posters around the gardens with the answers to the questions. If you found all the answers and filled them out on your paper, you could get a prize.

Evie was constantly asking me to take pictures of her by the flowers

Nora brought her LeapPad because it has a camera feature on it and she wanted to take her own pictures

Smelling the flowers

Blossoms on a tree

A cute duck couple

We saw some geese with their little goslings - so cute!

The kids finished filling out their question papers, so here they are with their prizes

Evie Kid of the Week!

Evie's cute poster she made for her "kid of the week" time. She did her fancy name and little flag banner all by herself!

Evie's 7th Birthday, Family Party

Getting ready for the party - Evie helped frost the fruit pizzas, and Marolynn helped me make a fruit design on them

The kids helped me make some balloon fruits (and vegetable) for the decorations

My best attempt at a cooking themed centerpiece

Beth gave the birthday girl a beautiful braided hairstyle!

 The food:
I tried to have a pretty healthy menu, in the spirit of the show, with lots of fruits and vegetables.
Ladybug cracker appetizers

We made a veggie rainbow this time

And a fruit owl

The finished fruit pizzas - I really liked the way they turned out!

We also had banana muffins, and sloppy joes.

Checking on the kitties on a Japanese game Reece has on his phone

Party time!

Marolynn made this cute apron for Evie

Dorie was not feeling super great, but on the plus side she was very cuddly
