Yesterday, we went to Midway to check out the ice castle there. I had heard it was really neat, and was excited to see it. It was gorgeous, and so neat to see!
HERE is their website. They have 3 castles in different states.
We got there just a little before sundown, so we got to see how it looks in daylight, and at night.
Little snow leopard
As it got later, more and more people came
This was an ice cave with a waterfall inside!
The kids found an itty bitty alcove, and each wanted to get their picture taken there
We met up with the rest of the group when they got there. The kids are always so excited to see their cousins!
Then the sun started going down. The contrast between the blue ice and the colors of the sunset was really pretty.
Going through the maze portion
Yes, it was very, very cold!
When it started getting dark, they turned on the lights, and the ice castle was lit up in all different colors
Thomas doesn't look so sure about going into the tunnel
At this point I ran out of batteries on my camera, so the rest are from my phone.
The colored lights in the ice was stunning!
After seeing the castle, we got some pizza at Cafe Galleria. It felt good to warm up! The kids (and grown-ups) enjoyed drawing on the paper table covering while we waited.
James had fun hanging out with Grandpop and Grammy!
