Valentine's Day

The girls were super excited about Valentine's Day this year. They each got to pick out some valentine cards at the store to hand out to the kids in their classes, and a treat to put on them. They each picked out lenticular cards (when you change the angle of the card, the picture changes), and Nora's were puppies and kittens, and Evie picked out Kung Fu Panda ones. On Monday evening, we got to work making sure all the cards were signed, and then taped the candy to them.

Nora took this picture of me and Evie taping little boxes of nerds to her valentines. You can see Sam in the corner sneaking his own box of nerds!

On Tuesday, both of the girls had Valentine's parties at school. I got to go to Nora's class to help with their Valentine party. It was lots of fun! They had 5 stations that they rotated through. Here is the story station.

One of the game stations.

Another mom and I ran the treat station - which was decorating a sugar cookie. The kids sure had fun with this one! They could choose pink or white frosting to spread on the cookie, and then what kind of sprinkles they wanted.

Yum!

They had made these cute little Valentine bags, and then lined them up and took turns dropping their cards in.

When everyone got home from school, the girls dumped out the contents of their Valentine bags on the couch and we sorted through them.

Sam was so jealous of the girls' Valentine candy. One of them shared this heart sucker with him, and it sure made his day. It was so hard to get a picture of him with it because he was so excited.
This one is super blurry, but cracks me up!

Later on he came to visit me with his sucker in the piano room (the current location of my computer)

For dinner, the girls helped make this heart-shaped pizza

Evie put the olives on, and Nora put the pineapple on

It was a love-ly day!

Heart Cookies

The girls and I had made sugar cookie hearts to decorate at the Valentine tea party, but we ran out of time, so instead we decorated them the next day at Grammy and Grandpop's house after Sunday dinner. It was a fun, but messy activity!

Grammy had some cute heart-shaped spinkles

Eating the cookies was also part of the fun!

Valentine Tea

On Saturday, we went to Kate's place for a very fun little Valentine's tea party. The table was adorable:

Nora and Evie were very excited to come to Kate's house, since they had never been there before.

Beautiful roses, and yummy food

Heart strawberries

These tomato hearts on the sandwiches were awesome

 Cute little GF cupcakes!

The pink roses were stunning

Cucumber sandwiches

Each place had a big cupcake (also gluten-free, thanks Kate!)

There were several different tea pots each with a different drink; there was hot chocolate, cherry 7-up, and a fruity tea

I loved these heart teacups on heart saucers

Of course, the girls wanted hot chocolate with whipped cream and a big red heart marshmallow

After lunch, we went to watch a movie while we did a little craft. The girls picked "Tangled" for the movie. Kate had made a cute little gift bag for everyone. I was trying to take a picture of the girls with their gift bags, but the movie had already started and they just couldn't pull their eyes away!

These cute heart crayons were in the girls' gift bags

For the craft, we made little valentine tags and ornaments to decorate Kate's little Christmas trees so they would be valentine trees.

At the end of the party before we went home, each girl got to pick a pink rose to keep

Oh Evie....
It was such a cute party! Nora said she wanted to stay at Kate's house forever. Hehe.
