Happy New Year!

We spent the evening of New Year's Eve with my family. We started out with exchanging gifts, since we weren't with them on Christmas.

All of the kids were very excited to see what was in this big present:
John and Sam
Evie and Will had a lot of fun with the wrapping paper - and Grandpop is doing a puzzle in the background. Hehe.
Nora was very happy to get this little dog. She would go and look at it every time we went to the store, and it is what she asked Santa for when we saw him at the mall. Thanks Grammy and Grandpop!

Sam and Andrew
We made Mom a calendar with pictures of the kids

Mike got the Germany version of Ticket to Ride (aka "the train game")
Here is what was in the big present - a pink horse for Nora and Evie! Nora named her Bubblegum.
Sammy got to be our baby New Year

Toasting with sparkling cider

The kids enjoyed the noisemakers!

Trying out Mike's new game
Will made Grammy put this box on her head. Whenever she would lift up the flap to look out he would say "Put your flap down!". Silly boy.
Sam kept himself occupied most of the night by practicing his "push-ups". He really wants to crawl.

Cute boy!
I hope everyone has a wonderful 2011!

Nativity Night - Beth's Pictures

I wrote about these events in an earlier post, but I wanted to post some of Beth's lovely pictures of them. The first set is the live nativity "Echos of Christmas" that we went to at Liberty Park.
This was our guide that led us from scene to scene
It was pretty cold so we were all bundled up!
The first scene was of a shepherd who was looking for the meaning in his life and a black sheep

The next scene was of several shepherds

The Wisemen

These were the inn keepers with a donkey

Evie got really into it. She looked very cute all bundled up.
Mary, Joseph and the baby
The Angel Choir
Evie really got into the spirit!
Will and Reece
After we got back to my parents' house, we did our own nativity. These are Beth's pictures of that.
