Sister's Disneyland: Part 2

In the bathroom, getting ready in the morning

The first ride of the day was Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout. I had not ridden this since they changed it from Tower of Terror

The queue area had lots of fun things to look at - the Collector's collection

The old Harold from the Matterhorn

Getting ready to ride

I loved it! I was sad when they first announced that they were re-doing the Tower of Terror, but the new version is really fun (and I'm glad they still have the Tower of Terror in Disney World). V did not want to do it again, however!

Breakfast time!

After breakfast we rode Radiator Springs Racers

And Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters

I love the Christmas decorations in Car's Land

We passed through the wharf area for a bathroom break, and I loved this garland at the Chinese restaurant

Another thing that was new since I was here last - Pixar Pier (it used to be Paradise Pier)
The little Pixar lamp is on top of the sign and looks around

We were very excited to ride the Incredicoaster (used to be California Screamin'). They re-themed it and gave it a fun story line. It even smells like cookies at one point

V wasn't tall enough to ride, but she did get a cookie from "Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums" hehe

Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff store - they sell candy and all kinds of Pixar stuff

This is a new ride on the Pier - Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. It is pretty similar to the old "Flick's Flyers" ride

Me relating to Fear

Cute Mickey Poinsettia topiary

We had a lunch reservation at the Carthay Circle Restaurant

The building is a reproduction of the Carthay Circle Theater, where "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" premiered in 1937. We were seated in the main dining room, which had this amazing ceiling!

The food was really good!

They brought me a special birthday dessert and a birthday pin for me to wear!

We didn't ride the rapids this time, but I had to admire the bear's giant Christmas sweater and hat

V got to ride Soarin' for the first time, and she loved it

We went over to Disneyland for the evening, and by a happy accident happened to be standing where Minnie's line was just starting, so we got our picture with her in her cute holiday outfit

Haunted Mansion Holiday is always super fun!

We went back over to Galaxy's Edge to see what it looked like at night. It is very cool - this was our favorite time to go there

We tried out the green and blue milk from the milk cart

We finished the evening with some yummy sandwiches and treats from the Jolly Holiday Bakery

Festive Main Street

"snow"

Here is a little collage of the holiday treats we tried:

The next morning we went to IHOP for a fun breakfast before heading to the airport

Some of their special holiday offerings:

There was a man there doing balloon sculptures, so Kate got a balloon Rapunzel for V

Back at the Long Beach Airport - one of the nice things about this airport is that it is really small. I also enjoyed these cool tile mosaics on the floor. I was reading about them, and it's quite interesting. They were originally made in 1941, but at some point were covered over with carpet. In a recent renovation there was concern that the mosiacs would be damaged if they ripped the carpet up, but they did it and luckily the mosaics were in good shape.
Such a fun trip!
