Game Day

On Saturday after Thanksgiving, we got together at my parents' house and had a fun game day.

The kids were most excited to play Pie Face Showdown.
The description on the box:

The Pie Face game is now a hilarious head-to-head race! Players load the arm with whipped cream, then place their chin on one of the chin rests. On the count of three, players hit the big red button closest to them to try to move the pie throwing arm towards their opponent. When the arm gets too close, it’ll spring up, and someone will get a face full of whipped cream! The other player wins
They played and played this until we ran out of whipped cream, hehe

Mike brought up the VR and set it up downstairs so the Burtons could try it. That was a lot of fun!

Sam loves making Lego creations!

A group of us played a game of Harry Potter Clue

We went to Red Robin for dinner, and then came back for a few more activities.

The kids made playdough turkeys

Those who wanted to, participated in a few rounds of Fibbage and Drawful - where everyone plays on a smart phone or tablet, and the questions show up on the TV screen

Ahhh, Drawful is so funny. Each person was given a prompt to draw at the beginning of the game. For each round, one of the drawings was shown on the screen, and everyone besides the artist had to come up with a fake prompt to try and trick people. After everyone submitted their prompt, then the drawing was shown on the screen with all the prompts - the fake ones and the real one, and you had to guess which was the real one. It was pretty tough to guess the right one, since they were usually pretty weird. Hehe.
The actual prompt for this one was "Kickstarter bacon"

This one was "unfrozen caveman lawyer"

This one was "Honeymoon in Space"

Thanksgiving

Since Karin's family was spending Thanksgiving with Ricky's side of the family, we had our family Thanksgiving dinner on Friday.

The Burton's elf, "Einstein", came with them, and was found in several interesting places during their stay. Here, he and some buddies made a shoe-shoe train

Mom's tables are always so beautiful

Beth brought a yummy cheese and cracker tray

Cute little Vienne!

Mom and Dad with the yummy food

The kids' table - a few of the kids got the assignment to help make place cards for the tables with everyone's names

It is always wonderful to spend time with these awesome people

Marolynn, Sue and Doug were also able to come!

The kids table looks like a lot of fun!

After dinner, we went to go see the new Disney movie, Moana

 It was a fantastic movie!

The kids also wanted a picture with this photo op, hehe

After the movie, we headed downtown to see the lights at Temple Square. On our way over, we looked at the Macy's candy windows. They were really whimsical and fun giant ornaments

This one was Santa in his sled with the reindeer, followed by lots of presents, against a background of swirling licorice.

Then we crossed the street to Temple Square and were welcomed by this lovely tree of lights

We stopped in the JSMB to see their large Christmas tree in the lobby

The lights were beautiful. The evening was a little chilly, but not freezing cold, so it was a good night to go!

It was a wonderful day celebrating all that we are thankful for
