Mickey's Halloween Party

On the Tuesday during our trip, we went to Mickey's Halloween Party. We all took  naps in the afternoon in the hopes that everyone would be able to stay up and enjoy it.

We had dinner at the Pizza Port. Sam tried out one of their Halloween specials - Mac n Cheese pizza. I have to say it was really good, much better than their regular pizza!

Next we went trick or treating! They had different stations set up around the park giving out candy and goodies.

Showing the results of the trick or treating - LOTS of candy!

They had cute pumpkin projections on the outside of Small World

We went to the Monsters University dance party. They taught everyone a monster dance, then had two groups of kids come on the stage for a scare-off. Hehe.

Mike had people telling him "I found you!!" all night, hehe.

The Halloween parade

We had to wait in a long line, but we finally got to get a picture with Jack and Sally

Halloween fireworks!

Splash Mountain round 1

Splash Mountain round 2

We got to meet Pooh and friends. I thought Pooh's bee costume was pretty funny.

We stayed until the very end of the party. The kids were pretty worn out!

Disneyland!!

We stayed at a different hotel this time, since we were not able to get a spot at our usual place when we rescheduled. This one is called the Candy Cane Inn, and we really liked it there!

For the room we were staying in, you would fill out a form of what you wanted for breakfast the next morning, and then they would bring it to you in a basket.

Here are our various pictures from Disneyland and California Adventure:

I think this was my favorite picture from the trip - squish hug in a teacup!

There were lots of festive Halloween treats in the stores!

"This is my favorite ride!" said Sam in front of the haunted mansion.

The spooky pumpkin patch! (Sam was actually a bit scared on the ride this year, though)

Meeting Aladdin

Nora "helping" Sam look for the picture

The new princess part of Fantasyland is pretty fun. We didn't wait in the huge line to meet the princesses, but we did watch a Beauty and the Beast play, which was really funny. This animatronic Figaro reminded me of Dina.

Sam made it to 40" for this trip, so he was able to ride several of the "big" rides!
He had a lot of fun on Soarin' Over California.

Lunch at Flo's Diner

Sam also rode Tower of Terror! Afterwards we asked him if it was fun, and he said, "yes". We asked him if he wanted to ride it again and he said "NO!!!"

One of Sam's very favorite rides - Mater's Junkyard Jamboree!

Snack break

Nora was very excited to ride her favorite ride - California Screamin'

Happy little Sam on the carousel

Ev

We checked to see if Evie was tall enough to ride California Screamin', and she was! She had a blast!

It had been a while before we had been to the Redwood Creek play area, so we went to check it out. They have a special card that they give to kids that if they pass off different challenges, they can get a Wilderness Explorer sticker (from the movie UP), so the kids were excited about doing those.

The bravery challenge - the tire swing zipline

The wolf howl challenge - going down the big tree slide while howling like a wolf

Rock climbing challenge

Animal spirit challenge

Evie showing of her challenge card

At the end, the ranger helped them do the Wilderness Explorer oath

and gave them their sticker

We stopped by the Cozy Cone for some lunch and snacks

This was my favorite - churro bites with chocolate dipping sauce!

Dinner at Cafe Orleans

Sam loves Toy Story!

We watched the World of Color show

"Made you look!"

Another fun morning in Fantasyland

Checking out the Halloween stuff at Big Thunder Ranch

The kids enjoyed the petting zoo

Riding Small World

Sam was so cute! He said "Let's go on this ride again, and again and again!" Sounds good to me!

We saw the new show, Mickey and the Magic Map. It was really fun!

We all rode Star Tours together

Sam had a fun time!

We decided to take the kids on Autopia since that is a ride that we usually skip, and I think Nora is the only one who had been on it once.

I let Ev do the steering while I pressed the pedal, and Sam rode along with us. Evie did a good job! Mike rode with Nora.

Meeting Mickey!

Dole Whips are the best!

Sam got to ride Splash Mountain a few times. He had mixed feelings about it!

Making wishes in Snow White's wishing well. Nora was very nice and shared her coins with everyone.
