Here are a few more pictures from January:
Sam likes to do his bedtime reading in my bed, and sometimes he needs some help getting back to his bed - hehe
This comic perfectly describes Sam and me...We had to make a rule that he can't wear shorts to school, but he changes into them right when he gets home.
Max had a lot of fun destroying Chewbacca mouse - Nora has since re-stuffed it and sewed it back up
Max loves sitting on his cat tree and looking out the window
Pretty pastel sunset
Kate came and visited me one day when I was volunteering at HSU, and got to meet lots of cute kitties, and see some of the dogs and rodents.
Kate set down her coat in one of the Kitty City rooms, and this cute kitty claimed it right away - hehe.
My #1 wish for Santa was a doorbell that you could actually hear downstairs. Mike got me a cool video doorbell, that also has a plug in wireless extension for the basement so you can hear it really well down there now. It sends alerts to your phone when there is motion by the door, and you can look at your phone and see who it is. Woo hoo! He installed it himself, and it works great!
It took me a while to get all the Christmas decorations taken down
Sam brought this home from school one day....oh boy. After all the fun things we did, his favorite thing was playing the iPad. I guess you just have to laugh.
A few more thoughts from Facebook:
Haha, I wish!
Awwww!
Evie started up basketball practices and games for the season
One evening the girls wanted me to look out the window and see how pink it looked outside!
Kate came over one evening to use the sewing machine, and we made her try a pickle candy cane (one of the silly stocking gifts I got). Hahaha!
Dorie was excited to try it - and she actually liked it.
The kids wanted to earn some extra money, so they cleaned out the car. I noticed that they had a special little helper in the back seat
Ugh, I HATE driving in the snow, but it does look like this, hehe.
Cute little sleeping Sader
Mike and I got released from being Wolf Scout leaders in December, but since we were in charge of planning and carrying out the January pack meeting service project, we saw that through.
We made fleece blankets to donate to Project Linus
As soon as I put a load of laundry fresh from the drier on the bed so I can fold/hang it up, a Max magically appears in the middle of it.
The Hale Theatre play we saw this month was "The Nerd", and it had a fun 70's set
Kate with our special treat box, complete with a mini tambourine! (One of the characters has some pretty funny scenes playing the tambourine)
Mike and I were able to go to the kids school for "Parents and Pastries". The school provides doughnuts for everyone, and the parents can read with their kids in their classroom.
Reading with Sam
When I was walking to Nora's class, I saw Sam's snowflake story hanging in the hall
It says: "First the snowflake fell. Next he landed on the roller coaster. Then he slipped on money. Last he slept on a wallet."
Reading with Nora about a pet ER. Mike read with Evie in her classroom.
I guess Sam likes bow ties now
We have been playing the new "King's Quest" game together as a family, and it has been really fun. It goes through different adventures in King Graham's life, that he is retelling to his granddaughter. It has lots of plot/character/music/dialog references to the original series, and has some famous voice actors such as Christopher Lloyd and Wallace Shawn. We still have a little bit to go before we finish. I hope it has a good ending!
