Nora's Horse Report

Nora's preschool class did oral reports. They got to pick an animal, and write a little report with 5 facts and find a picture of the animal to display. A few kids were assigned to give their report each day, and they presented the report to the class, and the parents that were there. Nora picked horses for the topic of her report, and we looked through some horse books to find some facts. Nora did a great job giving her report. She memorized her facts, and spoke nice and loudly so everyone could hear.

Another little girl in the class did a report on rabbits, and her mom brought their pet rabbit, and let the kids pet it. This was very exciting for them.
I was surprised at how well all the preschool kids did on their reports! It was very fun to go listen to them.

St. Patrick's Day

We were a little late getting the decorations up, but I did finish putting them up the night before St. Patrick's day. The girls were very surprised when they got up that morning. Nora said "Oh look! The leprechauns came to our house!"

Nora had been talking about wearing green for the whole week before, so she was excited when I told her it was it was the day to wear it! She made sure she would not get pinched.
She also got some little shamrock designs to put on her hand from preschool
We put a green bow on Sadie and took some pictures

Too many pictures, Mom!
We also gave Brina a turn

A couple of pictures of the kids together in their green outfits

Unfortunately Mike was feeling sick that day, so we postponed our "green dinner" for a few days so he could join in. We did make and decorate some cookies that night, though. We did Shamrocks, rainbows and gold coin cookies.

Nora and Evie frosting some gold coins
Sneaking a taste
Finished cookies

The little rainbows were everyone's favorites
The best part - eating them!
On Sunday everyone was feeling better, so for dinner we all put our green clothes back on, and had our St. Patrick's dinner. Dinner consisted of meatloaf (no, we did not try to make this green!), mashed potatoes with just a tad of green food coloring, peas, lime jello with pears, and limeade.

Sam really enjoyed his peas and cut up grapes!

Sam 9 Month Pictures

Sam was so funny when he was getting his picture taken. He kept sticking his tongue out, and trying to crawl away, so we got quite a few tongue pictures. Hehe. I brought some of his sock monkey toys, so he got a few pictures with those.

This one makes me laugh
So cute!

He's not too impressed...
Then we got some cute smiles
And even one that shows his cute teeth

Is it Spring Yet?

Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to lately:

Sam is doing well with his little finger foods. Here is what things look like after he is finished with his crispy rice cereal.
Thank goodness for the little cordless vac!

It looks like Evie got my "lines" gene (I loved to make lines of things when I was little). Here she is lining up my gluten-free baking mixes and mac n cheese.
Lining up the books
Nora drew this cute picture of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She loves preschool, and is doing really well with learning how to sound out some words.
When it is really cold, we bring Brina in the house, and she can stay in the basement bathroom. Otherwise, she is an outdoor cat. She still knows how to get my attention if she needs something, or wants some attention:
She stands on the railing of the deck, and looks in the kitchen window above the sink. She will paw at the window if she thinks you are ignoring her. If she hears someone doing dishes, she comes and watches.
Uh oh, a highchair meltdown. That usually means it is time for...
...a nap! He is so cute when he is sleeping. I love the squished cheek!
My mom got a new game for the kids to play at their house, and Nora and Evie had a very good time with it.

Evie loves the desk at my parents' house!
Poor Bambi and Pluto - this is what happens when you live in a house with two little girls.
