Valentine Dinner

On Valentine's Day, we had a special Valentine dinner.

These heart topiaries were a craft project I worked on this month

We got some jelly hearts and Valentine colored candy corn, and put them in little boxes at each place. Later on we used them when decorating cookies.

We made some heart shaped pizzas

Kate came and celebrated with us, which was so fun!

Dorie wanted to be in the picture too

School Valentines Parties

Preparing for school Valentine parties started with making Valentine boxes. Evie wanted to make a cupcake, Nora wanted to make a dog house, and Sam just wanted to paint a box.

We made the top of the cupcake by doing paper mache over a mixing bowl. Evie was completely grossed out by the paste

We found out later that Evie didn't need to bring a Valentine box to school, which turned out to be good because it took us longer to get her's all finished!

Next, the kids signed all of their Valentine cards, and attached the candy

Signing Valentines is hilarious, apparently

When Dorie realized there were treats involved, she got very interested (and Sam started freaking out)!

Later, the girls came home from their class Valentine parties

Finishing up Evie's cupcake box - She finished it for the family Valentine tea party, and I told her we are keeping for her to use next year at school! We covered the top with little squares of tissue paper, glued on using the eraser end of a pencil. Evie, Nora and I all worked on this part to get it done.
