35th B-day

To celebrate my birthday, Beth and Kate put together a fun girls night out!

We stopped by Beth and Reece's place. V is so cute, and wanted all of us to sit on her step with her

She had fun going through the jewelry box

She was also practicing her make-up skills - she had just learned to use the small brush on people's eyelids, and was practicing on all of us. I look a little nervous, hehe

For dinner, we had a delicious cheese course at the Melting Pot. It was so hard to choose, because all of their cheese fondues sounded so good, but we decided on the spinach artichoke. We also got some fun drinks.

Kate and I got the "Miami Vice"  strawberry-colada

Fun with snapchat filters, hehe

Next, we headed across the street to J Dawgs to get one of their famous hot dogs. This was my first time going there, and they were really good!

Kate had made some fun treat bags for the movie with some of my favorite goodies!

We were originally going to see Kubo and the Two Strings, but the theater had posted the wrong schedule online when we made the plans, and when we got there, that movie was not starting for a long time. We ended up seeing Pete's Dragon, which was another movie I've been wanting to see, and I thought it was really cute.

We took some pictures in the photobooth at the theater after the movie. It was a little hard to fit 4 people in there..haha.

I stopped by Kate's place on the way home to get my car, and I was able to say hi to her two cute kitties. Here is adorable Louis looking out the window.

We celebrated with the family at Sunday dinner. My mom made a special gourmet mac n cheese.

This year the bakery finally agreed to do something a little different for the cake - flowers AND pumpkins! There was a little mishap with it in the car, and it got a bit squished, but it was still really awesome!

Each of the kids made me a cute card.

Kitties!

Mike is good at finding funny cards!
It was a super fun birthday!

California Adventure

We spent one of our trip days in California Adventure. We didn't know it, but we went on "Dapper Days", an unofficial Disneyland event where people dress up to go to the parks, many of them in vintage inspired outfits, which was fun to see. We were a little confused to see so many people dressed up so fancy to go to Disneyland, so we googled it and found out what it was all about.

Mike and the kids got to try the new dancing cars ride for the first time

Sam told me he got his "bug license"

ummm...

Sam's "monster face"

We all rode Grizzly River Rapids - they wouldn't let me get out of it this time

The Harry Potter group - waiting in line for Radiator Springs Racers

Many rounds of rock, paper, scissors were played in line

We were excited to see the new "Soarin' Around the World" movie. It was really cool

Getting ready for Goofy's Sky School (and at some point Sam apparently decided to turn his shirt backwards...)

They were getting things set up for the "Festival of Holidays" which the sign said are festivities and food carts set up that celebrate different cultural traditions. It opens a little later in November, but I thought their logo was pretty cute.

The big moment - Tower of Terror. The exterior of the tower is already covered in scaffolding and tarps, so that was kind of a bummer. It also was not running to capacity, and they weren't doing fastpass, so we had a looooong wait in line. Mike was able to see some people that have YouTube channels that he likes to watch, since they were taking a park tour and we saw them go in and out of Tower of Terror. He thought that was pretty cool.

Oh man, I am sure going to miss this creepy lobby

Making their best "Tower of Terror" faces after the ride

We were able to see the new musical theater production at the Hyperion, which is Frozen the Musical. It was really fun, and they were able to do some really cool effects with projected backgrounds, props, and puppets.

Riding Soarin' one more time. It was a great weekend!!
