Play Dough, Fibs and Smiles

This week we made some play dough, and Nora has been loving it! Her favorite thing is to make snakes.

Nora also told her first fib. She put her legs under the TV cabinet at my parents' house, and then said, "I stuck! I stuck!" and I must admit the first time she did it I fell for it, but it soon became apparent that she was not really stuck and just wanted to get my attention. Oh boy!
Evie has started to smile back when you smile at her. I have had a hard time getting a good picture so far, but it is really cute!

Electrician Practice

First off... why does Blogger feel the need to rotate your picture sometimes. Anyways, Reece was nice enough to walk me through some Electrician 101 this last week by helping me install a busted light switch. Tonight I went down to pick up a wire stripper and some new switches and made some replacements. Everything went very well. It's nice to learn some useful skills that I've never had a chance to do.

You may be wondering why the switch on the top is all busted up. After I replaced the switch upstairs I noticed that the 3-way lighting with the switches wasn't working properly. I opened up the old switch to see which screws went to which original wire. After I found my mistake I switched two wires and everything was working again.

Cute Girls

Evelyn is 5 weeks old and doing great! I can tell that she's grown a lot. We got out the swing this week, and she is definitely a fan. Nora's been learning about how to share - her baby doll gets a turn in the swing, then Evie gets a turn.

Sweet, sleepy baby

Nora's second birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks. She is learning a lot of new words, including the names of many animals. She loves the song "Old MacDonald" and we hear her singing "E-i-e-i-o Farm! E-i-e-i-o Cow! E-i-e-i-o Pooh!". It's very cute. "Finding Nemo" is her new favorite movie (she calls it "Emo"). I am hoping she moves on to another one soon, because no matter how many times I see it, it always makes me cry :(

A new way to watch TV

Happy girl!

3 Years

We adopted Sadie in May of 2005, so she's put up with us for 3 years. She has been such a sweet cat, and has adjusted pretty well to all the changes our family has gone through during this time.

This was the picture of her from the Humane Society's website adoption listings

How she spends most of her time...zzzzzzz

Sadie on her favorite chair

It's been a great 3 years, and we hope there are many more ahead!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the great mothers and women out there! We had a really nice day. We, along with Beth, Reece and Kate, went to my parents' house for dinner, and had a fun evening hanging out together.

I wanted to get a picture of the two girls and me, and out of the 14 shots we took, this was the best one. Nora does not like to get her picture taken. She would rather be running around the room!

A nice group shot

And just for fun, here is a picture of my mom and me in 1981.

More Flowers!

Nora, Evie, Mom and I went to check out the Temple Square gardens today, and enjoy the warm sunny weather after having a cold snowy spell. The gardens were absolutely amazing. We had a really good time, except Nora was not very happy when we would try to take pictures of her. She would say "No, no, no, no, No Picture". Hehe. We were still able to get a few with her smiling. She was very excited to see all the flowers, and kept saying "flower, flower, flower." We stopped at the Lion House Pantry and got some of their rolls for a little snack, and Nora loved that!
