Nora Summer Strings

Nora participated in Summer Strings this June, which is a summer orchestra program for the kids to participate in and is taught by the Jr. High orchestra teacher. Nora was in the intermediate group. They had practice every weekday morning during June up to their concert on June 24th.

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day at Sunday dinner. The kids had so much fun making the birthday poster for Grammy, that they decided to make Father's Day posters for Mike and Grandpop.

They were telling Grandpop about all the pictures they drew

We are grateful for our great dads!

We also watched "Night at the Museum 3" because in that movie they go to the British Museum. It was a fun movie!

Nora's Friend Party

This past fall, Nora won a free birthday party at Bobby Lawrence Karate during the Walk-a-thon, and she was very excited about it!

The kids got to learn a few things about Karate, and then play some games

Nora got to wear the honorary birthday black belt

The kids sure got their exercise in! They played lots of fun games including freeze tag, pool-noodle light sabers, Army-Navy, and Dodge Ball.

When they got out, they had to go to the side and do push ups or another exercise and then they could be back in the game.

They got to practice jumping over these bags. They added one on to make it higher each round

Then they got to jump off the springboard and do their favorite Karate pose

The next challenge was jumping over two ropes, that were moved farther and farther apart each round

Since Nora was the birthday girl, she got to break a board

Nora got to cut the cake using a sword!

We forgot to bring a knife, so Mike got to finish cutting the rest of the cake with the sword - haha

Oh boy - Sam and Nora both had their actual birthdays at the end of May, but with all the end-of-school activities and craziness, it took me a little while to get around to having their friend parties, but when we did they were sure fun!
