Nora and I wanted to check out Zoolights this year since it had been a suuuuper long time since we had last been. Since you don't see a lot of the actual zoo animals during Zoolights, we went to the zoo in the afternoon first to visit the animals, and then went to see the lights after dinner.
In addition to the giant tree by the entrance of the zoo, they had this animal-themed one on the Twiga Terrace, which is where you can look out over the giraffe/zebra/ostrich enclosure.
They had a naughty list where they had added some things that people didn't like this year such as traffic, no snow, and splinters
Oh, and 67 for being one of the most annoying trends/memes of the year lol

At zoo closing time, we left and went to Shake Shack to get some dinner

The giant tree in the entrance plaza looks amazing lit up
This is the most creative light display we saw - it is in the shape of the famous lion drinking fountain
Nora got inspired by the dancing T-rex
Twiga Terrace all lit up
The Gingerbread Forest area had lots of cute "gingerbread" animals
I wanted to get a picture with the monkey lights. Nora said the way I posed made it look like one of them was pooping on my head 😑
One of the few animals we saw at night - the Mongolian Wild Horses
The elf workshop
Nora with the seal lights
We were able to see some of the monkeys in the Primate Forest area:
The little baby Colobus monkey
Awww, two of the monkeys were sleeping with intertwined tails
We made a stop at the Beastro to get some hot chocolate/apple cider and get one of their seasonal treats
