Video Card visits the doctor
Way back in March 2006 when I built my current computer I purchased a 7900GTX 512MB video card. Unfortunetly, because it was a brand new card there was issues. After playing graphically intensive games for about 1-2 minutes the graphics card would completely freeze up the computer and then stay frozen for about 30 seconds. After the 30 seconds everything seemed to be ok, it was annoying but I could live with it. All of the Nvidias drivers seemed to have the same problems happening over and over. Some of them handled it better than others.
Fast forward to this month when I upgraded to Windows Vista. I guess the new drivers that I need to use for Vista with my video card doesn't handle my card problem very well. It usually freezes and stays frozen or throws the lovely blue screen of death. I wrote BFG (the company that made my card) and they had me call them and set up a warrenty replacement RMA. They are even paying for the postage both ways (woo hoo). Hopefully they will send me a card that wasn't in the intial batch of cards that have problems. I guess if they can't solve the problem I should upgrade, though I wish to avoid it for at least a couple more years.

The end is in sight
They ended up painting two of the rooms the correct color, but the did not paint the storage room and the hallway they touched up in the incorrect color, yellow. It was late by the time they finished, we figure that they will come back after they finish installing the base molding. The contractors are going to replace our window ceils so that they match the window casing they installed last week.
We talked to the contractors today, they are suppose to be finishing up all of the work on Feb 25th and 26th. We'll then go through the punchlist and be completely done on Mar 9th. I hope everything goes to schedule because we have appliances being delivered mid-march. Also a new couch will be delivered.

Getting close
We were happy to have the eletrician come back and easily install recessed lights into the pre-finished room we had in the basement. It only took him a couple hours to get it done and it lights up the room so much more.
Our new finish date is suppose to be Feb 22nd. That's when they will be ready for the punch list. They figure the punch list will take them until March 7th.
