We went up to my parents' house for Christmas Eve, and all of my side of the family was there.
Playing some video games with the cousins
Our first major activity was our Nativity play
The cast:
James and Thomas as the animals
John, Sam and Will as the wise men
Ricky and Evie as the angels
Andrew and Nora as the shepherds
Reece as Joseph, Beth as Mary, and Vienne as Jesus
Dad was the narrator, and Ben was our amazing extra who filled several rolls
The annunciation
Angel Gabriel came to tell Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus (and he was accompanied by a baby duckling)
Joseph and Mary traveling to Bethlehem
No room in the Inn
By the manger with the animals
The baby is born
And laid in a manger
Shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger
The wise men traveling from the East
Giving gifts to the child
After the play, we had a yummy soup bar for dinner
Mom's Christmas table
Backer's Christmas cake for dessert!
Beth and cute baby V
Nora made this cute ornament
After dinner we played a game of Christmas Bingo
The prizes were a bill wrapped around a pack of lifesavers and then wrapped in wrapping paper. There were $1, $5, $10 and $20, so it was a big surprise to see what you would get! It worked out that most of the kids got the big bills, and the adults got the $1s. Hmmm. Hehe.
Andrew got the jackpot - the one and only triple wrapped pack!
These adorable nativity pictures were drawn by Thomas and were hanging up on the kitchen cabinet
The drive back to American Fork was not the highlight of the night...ugh. So much snow!
It was so snowy, and the snow and storm kept the light reflected back I guess, so it looked quite bright outside!
