If You're Happy and You Know it...

Happy Birthday, Mike!

Mike turned 26 on the 21st. On Thursday, Kate watched Nora while Mike and I went to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate. It was delicious, and not as crazily busy as it was last time we were there.

Oh man, poor Evie eyeing all that yummy food
On Sunday, my parents had us, Beth, Reece and Kate over for a birthday dinner and cake. We also watched some of the Olympics closing ceremony on TV while we were there.

Nora tried to take off with the whole carton of ice cream

But settled for her own piece of cake and a scoop of ice cream

Happy birthday, Mike!!

The Fair

This evening, we went to the Utah County Fair with some friends. We had some tasty Navajo tacos for dinner, and then went to go look around. We saw the animals (Nora's favorite part), part of a horse competition, and browsed through some booths. We had a fun time!

We didn't ride the ferris wheel, but it looked pretty cool

Going to see the animals

The crazy sheep!

Watching the horse competition

I love Evie's smile in this picture (and how we look so glorious)

Mike wanted to bring this little guy home with us. He thought it would make a good friend for Sadie.

Reunions

Last weekend was our family reunion for my Dad's side of the family at the Homestead Resort. We have had it every other year since the mid 80s, and it has become a really fun tradition. There were many different crafts and activities for the little kids. We brought our Rockband game, and several of my cousins, and their kids gave it a try. The adults also held the traditional volleyball game. Luckily I had the excuse of taking care of the baby to get me out of it this year, but Mike played and had a good time. It is always great to see all the family members.

The credit for taking all these pictures goes to my mom. When I got home, I realized I hadn't really taken any. Oops.

Mmmm, salt water taffy

Going to "Granny's" for some milkshakes and onion rings

A family picture (I love Mike's "take it quick!" face, hehehe)

Pizza night

On Friday night, we were able to go to a little roommate reunion with some of my great roommates from BYU. It was really fun to see everyone again, and see how much the kids have grown. The last one we had was two years ago.

Catching Up

Well, it's been a little while since my last post. This summer seems to be flying by like crazy! Here are some pictures from the past few weeks:

Evie loves to stretch her legs

Evie also loves to play with the baby gym

We paid another visit to the Dinosaur Museum, and Nora remembered the shark, and was very excited to see him this time. She keeps asking to see this picture on my computer.

On a different day, we went to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens, and Nora loved the Koi pond. She got a kick out of feeding them some fish food.

Evie and the Very Hungry Caterpillar

Most nights, Nora climbs out of bed and plays for a while after Mike tucks her in, but then she climbs back in bed to fall asleep. Lately she hasn't always been making it back to the bed, and when I check on her I find something like this:

This time she completely emptied all the clothes out of her dresser, and fell asleep on them

Nora had a cold at the beginning of July, but then had a cough that just wouldn't go away. After 3 weeks of coughing, I took her in to the pediatrician. The doctor said that Nora has asthma. We have been giving her nebulizer treatments, and she took an oral steroid for a while, and was starting to get a lot better. Unfortunately this week she got another cold, so I guess we'll see how this affects it

Nora has been very good and mostly very cooperative with her treatments. She has a little purple dinosaur mask to use with the nebulizer, and she thinks that it is pretty cool.
