St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day was on a Sunday this year, so we had a special Sunday dinner to celebrate it!

Later in the week, we had our little family dinner

We decided to try a slightly new take on the fruit rainbow, and made a rainbow-shaped fruit pizza for our dessert

We also found some GF gnocchi at the grocery store, and made a gnocchi soup that I'd been wanting to try out. It had green spinach leaves in it, so that counts.

We did the "shamrock soda" like the one from Animal Crossing, again. Ev's take on that was to just get a cup of whipped cream, lol

For an after dinner activity, we played some video games, but the catch was that your character in the game had to have some green on them.

Ev's Wisdom Teeth

On March 1, Ev went to the oral surgeon and got her wisdom teeth out. The surgery went smoothly and only took 11 minutes!

After waking up from the anesthesia, she wanted to take a selfie and a video

Next we got her a frosty from Wendy's, and watched a movie. It was the last day that The Bee movie was on Netflix and most of us hadn't actually seen it, so we picked that one.

It was a very strange movie

I'm still not over the fact that when one of the bees was in the hospital, his IV was hooked up to a honey bear, lol

I am happy to say that Ev's recovery has gone really well!

February Misc.

Dorie got a little skin bump removed from her elbow, and had to wear the cone for a little bit. She was a surprisingly good sport about it

The mighty hunter

We started a family book club this year. The book that we read in January, and discussed in February was "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. Karin was able to join us through zoom.

Nora went to the Rocky's Dance at her school with some friends. The theme was "Heroes and Villains" so Nora wore an outfit inspired by the Queen of Hearts, and her friend wore an outfit inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

I was packing for our trip, and had been using a plastic shopping bag. Max immediately sat on it. I had forgotten that he loves those for some reason.

I saw some really cute Bluey valentine's cards at the store, and since I don't have any kids in elementary school anymore that hand out valentines, I thought we could hand them out to the family at Sunday dinner. Nora helped me get them ready.

Dorie and I watched the live action Pinocchio movie with Tom Hanks, because no one else was interested in watching it. There were some cute parts, there were also some really, really strange decisions made....hmmm.

Nora got to go to a special dinner at Olive Garden with the Sterling Scholars from her school

She also got to participate in the Semi-finals interviews

The Japan Crate had a DIY ice cream treat. Sam made it, and it turned out really cute
