Nora loves dogs, so it was no surprise to us when she said she wanted a dog birthday party this year. We had a little party with her friends on her actual birthday, which happened to be the day after school got out, so everyone was very excited and had a lot of energy!

She said she wanted a golden retriever cake
For the main activity, the kids painted little doggy banks
A shot with the whole crew!
The party was during Sam's naptime, so Sam got to paint his bank after he woke up
Nora loves party planning, and she wrote out a schedule (party order) for her family party:
(Wait for everyone, open presents, eat dinner, games - guess the dog, dessert, the surprise, show presents from yesterday, go home to your house)
Mom let me borrow lots of toy dogs and handkerchiefs for the decorations
We also made some banners with different dog breeds
The menu:
The puppy snacks were little Scooby Do graham crackers
After dinner, Beth had arranged for a very special surprise - doggy visitors! Some friends, Kelly, Jared and Angie, brought over their dogs to play with the kids for a while. The kids were in heaven! The first one to arrive was Jasper. He is an Australian shepherd and lab mix, and is so sweet. He is very good at playing fetch.
Getting some doggy kisses
Giving Jasper a drink
Next, Bo and Buddha arrived. Here Bo is being welcomed by Evie.
Angie helped Evie do tricks with Bo
He knows how to shake
Everyone loved the dogs!
Sam pretended to be a dog, and crawled around on all fours, and rolled in the grass
Beth and Reece had to leave a little early since Beth had a quiz she had to do, so Nora opened the present from them first. Bo was pretty excited to see what the present was, too.
It was her very own toy German Shepherd! Nora named him Chester, and he is very real looking! She loves him!
Bo came to check out the new dog

After the doggie friends went home, we went inside to open the rest of the presents.
Nora got a fun cupcake baking set from Grandma!
Kate gave Evie some fun outdoor toys, including the "geyser" sprinkler. Sam was obsessed with it and carried it around. He couldn't even stop looking at it for the picture. Hehe.
Next it was time for cake!
The kids wanted to help put in the candles
Singing to Nora
Grammy gave Nora a fun craft, and they worked on it together
and then Sam came to help
Happy 7th birthday, Nora Borealis!
