Here are a few more pictures from August:
Nora and I went to see the new Lion King movie
Our "baby Simba"
Sushi date night
This has been one of my least favorite things this month - Oliver's new favorite hobby is catching grasshoppers outside, and then bringing them into the house through the dog door. Ugh. Sometimes they are still alive when I find them
Celebrating Reece's birthday
Poor Max - one Sunday when we were driving home from Sunday dinner, a big rain and lightening storm suddenly came. When we got home and I was going to feed the cats, only Oliver was there meowing for his food. We searched all over the house for Max, in case he accidentally got closed into a room or a closet, but we couldn't find him anywhere. We went out into the rain to check the backyard, and we found him cowering under a bush, soaking wet. I guess he was too scared to run back in through the dog door during the storm
For Cub Scout pack meeting this month, they did a "recycle" rain-gutter regatta. They had dinner for everyone, and then the boys used the garbage from it to make their boats, hehe
Racing the boats by blowing through a straw at the sail - It was a little hard for Sam because he was having an asthma flare up, but he was a good sport
My little cuddle buddy
Nora taking a nap with Dorie and Max
Karin was able to come out for a short visit this month, and it was so fun to see her! She was especially excited to meet baby Monty in person
Grammy and Grandpop took us all out to Red Robin
Watching tv
Kate was taking care of little Luci again, and we got to see her at Sunday dinner!
Nora had some friends over and they decorated cupcakes. Nora made this one to look like Dorie
I went with Nora and her friend to the Junior High open house to go see their classrooms and meet their teachers. I thought this bulletin board in the foods lab was really awesome.
Grammy, Grandpop, and John went to Education week, and we all met up with them one evening at CPK (Not pictured: Sam had an unfortunate incident with some very hot peppers. I guess it was a good life lesson)
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Max is learning bad things from Oliver
Sam's list of what he wanted me to get him from the store, that he slid under the door. Hehe
A very happy Sam
Walking the Murdock Canal Trail
Sam loves to wrap up Max like a little burrito, and Max loves Sam's soft blanket, so I guess it's a win-win
One night the cats were having a stare down. They stayed like this for a very long time.
Mike's birthday! Vienne wanted to be part of our family picture
I found this in my bedroom one morning...
Evie was playing soccer with some neighborhood friends, and she took a really hard kicked-ball to the wrist. It was really hurting, so I took her to instacare, where they x-rayed it and found it was broken. She is in a splint for a week, and then she will get a cast. Darn it!
He'd better not be hiding any grasshoppers under there!
