The breakfast buffet at the Sheraton was awesome!
There was a kids' section that was at a lower height, and I loved how they had the utensils in lego dividers.
This was their breakfast specialty. If you said you wanted fried rice, they would bring a hot skillet with rice and an egg on top. As you mixed it up in the hot pan, the egg would cook. It was really good!
When we boarded the monorail this morning, we noticed that the Mickey strap handles were now wearing witch hats!
The floral Mickey at the entrance was in Halloween colors
Right when you go in, you walk through the World Bazaar, which is the equivalent of Main Street USA in the US parks, except it is covered
The marching band was all dressed up for Halloween as well!
This guy who collects Sorcerer Mickeys was very impressive. We were pretty hot just in tee shirts, so it must take some serious dedication to wear this around the park.
One thing that is different here than in the US parks, is that during the month of October, costumes are allowed in the parks all day, even for adults (in the US parks, adults are only allowed to wear costumes while attending the Halloween parties) We saw LOTS of people dressed up, and many amazing costumes!
We were going back and forth around different parts of the park all day, so instead of organizing the pictures chronologically, I organized them according to areas of the park for this post.
FANTASYLAND
The Castle in Tokyo Disneyland is Cinderella's Castle
They have mosaics telling the story of Cinderella lining the main castle passageway
The capitols on these columns were adorable
Our favorite ride in the park ended up being Pooh's Hunny Hunt. It has a trackless ride system, which makes it so the path your ride vehicle takes through the ride varies, so it is fun to ride multiple times and see slightly different things. It also has some unique special effects that make it really fun!
The exterior of the ride looks like a giant storybook
When we rode in the morning, Pooh was out greeting the guests waiting in line. Mike took this picture on his phone, looked at it and said "You have a little Pooh on your shoulder". Oh boy
In the inside portion of the queue, you are walking though pages of the book with the stories and pictures of Pooh's adventures
At the exit is this cute little Christopher Robbin's room, and this little Tigger couldn't resist playing with it, hehe
Unfortunately Small World was closed for renovations :(
Mickey's Philharmagic - it was fun to listen to it in Japanese
Another one of my favorite things in the park was this restaurant, the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall. In the morning when we were waiting in a nearby line, I popped in to take a few pictures when it was not busy, and then we came back for a late lunch in the afternoon, and it was very busy!
They had the hedge maze on the roof
The entrance is a giant heart-shaped topiary bush
And of course, there is a card painting the roses red
Inside the restaurant you go through a giant doorknob
The kitchen area, where you pick up your food
Mike got the beef patty with cheese, and I got the chicken salad. We split an unbirthday cake, because it was just too cute to pass up.
Outside the restaurant were the only drink vending machines we saw in the park - they are the tea pots in this picture.
The Haunted Mansion in Tokyo is in Fantasyland, and it had the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay for the holidays.
The jack-o-lantern tree was fun
Fantasyland at night is always so charming
These were some treats we had heard about and wanted to try. They are called Tipo Tortas, which is a kind of pastry stick, with a filling inside. The Halloween flavors were sweet potato, and blackberry with cream cheese.
TOMORROWLAND
This is the "Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek" ride. It is a cute Monsters Inc. themed dark ride, but it is also interactive. Each rider gets a little flashlight, and throughout the ride, you look for little blue hardhats with the Monsters logo, and if you shine your flashlight on the logo, it will trigger some animation to happen in the scene. It was really cute and fun.
Our ride photo - haha
I thought this Monsters light fixture was cool
Mike was very daring and decided to try riding Space Mountain. He took some Bonine, and luckily it seemed to do the trick this time!
You get to ride a little escalator up to the ride entrance though a glass tunnel
View from the top
Later on we were drawn in by this cool churro display
They were melon soda flavored churros, which was pretty different, but they were good!
ADVENTURELAND
We got a little sandwich for a snack in the late morning. The buns were shaped like Mickey gloves
Pirates
Most of the Pirates queue is inside this Southern mansion
These Jungle Book mosaics were really fun
I love the Swiss Family Treehouse - I'm glad it has survived here as well!
Jungle Cruise
I have to say, our Jungle Cruise skipper here was my favorite one we have ever had. Even though I don't understand Japanese, he was so into the role, and very entertaining!
The Tiki Room here has been taken over by Stitch. You can see his spaceship crashed in front of it
Little Stitch footprints all over the ceiling
Stitch's glow in the dark graffiti
The show was still pretty entertaining, even though Stitch is not my favorite
WESTERNLAND
The Halloween decorations here were really fun
The Country Bears were currently performing their vacation themed show
CRITTER COUNTRY
We rode Splash Mountain using the single rider line, since the regular line was so long, so Mike and I were in different logs.
Sorry about my hand blocking out the sun, but I thought this area was so whimsical and fun
There was a special Halloween parade in the afternoon
We also caught the nighttime parade, Dreamlights
The castle was lit up at night in orange and purple
At the end of the day, we headed back through the World Bazaar, to the exit.
Our "end-of-the-day" selfie. We had soooo much fun, but definitely wore ourselves out!
