Trip to Temple Square

Nora and I went up to Salt Lake last week for my haircut appointment. My Mom came with us and entertained Nora. After that, we went to see the spring flowers at Temple Square. They were stunning and we had a really good time. (Mom took most of these pictures by the way.)

The New and Improved Office

Here are some pictures of our new office (we are still finishing setting it up). We moved it to the room that was formerly the guest bedroom in the basement. It has been nice because it is a bigger room so it is not so cramped with all the furniture. Mike painted the walls.

Woo hoo, finished!

Nope, not our basement. We still have a little more ways to go on that. We finally finished the path on the side of our yard. The main pavers that make up the path were done last fall thanks to the help from my dad. I finally got around to putting the retaining wall blocks on either side. Now that the path is complete, we can fill up the soil on either side for our garden. I think it's looking quite nice actually. As you can see, Jenny has been really busy getting rid of the weeds!

Nora's First Steps

I forgot to mention it in my Easter post, but Nora took her first real steps on Sunday! She took 3 steps in a row before she fell down. Today she has been standing up, taking one step, and then sitting down (not falling down). It is pretty funny. Learning how to walk is hard work!

Easter

Nora had a really good time for her first Easter. Sacrament meeting at church was really nice, but then the next two hours of teaching the nursery were crazy. I've never seen those kids so hyper before. It must be all the Easter candy. We did Easter baskets after church, and then went to my parent's house for dinner. Bethany took lots of cute pictures of Nora with flowers, and some family pictures of us. They turned out so well! Hopefully it doesn't take too long to load up all the pictures. It was just so hard to narrow down the ones I wanted to post!

Dying Eggs

On Saturday we dyed our Easter eggs. Nora was pretty excited about it, although a little disappointed that she couldn't put her hands in the dye.

In Case You've Been Wondering...

In case you've been wondering why we haven't posted a basement update for so long, here is the reason. We've been so close to being done for so long, we just kept thinking, "oh, they'll be finished next week and then we can post about it being finished." But as often happens in construction, things keep getting delayed, and delayed, and delayed and...you get the idea. So the news today is that we didn't pass the final inspection because the gas system needs to be upgraded. I have no idea what that entails, or how long it will take. They also have just a handful of other finishing details that still need to be completed. So anyway, this is what things look like now:

The bedrooms are now painted the right color!

The storage room is also painted the correct color.

All of the appliances are in (although the dishwasher won't turn on).
