Trick -or-Treat

Whew, it's finally Halloween night! Here is the trick-or-treat crew when they got back! The girls had little glow-stick necklaces, and Sam tagged along in the stroller.

Evie's favorite treat was a can of cream soda

Here is Daddy going through the candy, looking for peanuts and gluten!

Sam was thrilled with his tootsie pop

Mike with the "Daddy and Mommy candy" - the peanut/gluten candy - Twix is my ultimate favorite!

Ahhhhhhhhh! Sugar!!

Happy Birthday Grandpop!

For my Dad's birthday, we went to a special dinner at my Aunt Dianne's house. It was lots of fun!

Nora blowing out the candles - hehehe

It was a gluten-free cake, so Evie was able to enjoy it too! Nora is holding one of the birthday presents - a little owl with a nest (she is also wearing Grammy's Halloween beads).

School Halloween Parties

Here are some pictures from Evie's preschool Halloween trick-or-treat. All the parents came with treats and stood around the driveway and the little kids went around with their little goody bags.

Then they gathered the whole class up for a group picture - Evie was doing a silly cheese face.

I took another picture when we got home because I thought she looked so cute!

Nora's school Halloween festivities started out with the Halloween parade, where all the classes line up and parade around the school for the parents. It was so fun to see all the different costumes!

The cute little costume assignments that the kids did earlier were hanging out in the hall. I enjoyed taking a look at all of those.

Then the class party started. This was the treat station where there was a bubbling cauldron of rootbeer, and the kids got to make "witch's brew" trail mix.

Another mom and I were in charge of one of the game stations. We did two games - the first one was pin the nose on the witch. There were all kinds of funny noses.

The second game was "Don't Eat Pete!", where there was a card with 9 different pumpkins on it, and we put a skittle on each one. One child would leave, and then the rest would pick one of the pumpkins to be Pete. The child would come back and would take the skittles off of each pumpkin until they picked up the one that was on Pete, and the rest of the kids would yell "Don't Eat Pete!" (or, for those in my family,  it is the same as "Watch Out Willy!")

There was also a craft station, where the kids made Halloween necklaces, a story station, and another game station with Halloween Bingo. It was a really fun party!

A Spooky Day at the Office

Friday was family Halloween day at Mike's work. On Mike's floor, 3 different groups made Halloween walkthroughs.

Mike's group made a spook alley. Here is Mike standing at the entrance. Unfortunately none of my pictures from inside turned out since it was dark, but it was very cool. They had different scenes, like a cave and a graveyard with lots of cool special effects and sounds. At the end they handed out balloons and sugar cookies.

Another group did "The Wizard of Oz"
Here are the witch's legs coming out from under the house!

They had painted a long mural with different characters and parts of the movie, and had made rectangular cutouts for computer screens playing that particular scene from the movie.

At the end, they had a green room (emerald city) with a guy making balloon animals. It was very cute.

The last one we went through was Pumpkin Alley. It was one long, dark tunnel with lit up, carved pumpkins of all kinds of characters down either side of the path. At the end you could vote for your favorite pumpkin

My favorite was E.T.

Nora voted for Tigger

Afterward, I took the kids trick-or-treating to different cubicles around the building

This "broom parking" desk cracked me up. The brooms are hanging by fishing line.

We had a wonderful time visiting Daddy's work! Everyone did a great job. I wanted to get a picture of all three kids once we got home, so this was the best one that I got (after many, many, many tries - hehe)

Kate's Birthday!

We celebrated Kate's birthday a little early this year since she is going on a fun trip to visit Beth and Reece over her actual birthday.

Little Sam spies the cake!

Mmmmm, frosting pumpkins! (and a spider ring!)

Happy birthday, Kate!
